Big Society.. tracking it down.

Perhaps I could garner some information as to what it was? Whatever it is, Half of Tory members oppose it

It would seem that this "project" is the only way to realise any civic ambition you may have these days. I thought perhaps a Labour Party member like myself could help them, and them me?

Nosing around on the internets, as I do, I happened upon the Young Professionals/Generation Y and the Big Society event from "The Big Society Network"

Blimey! What's that about then?

Big Society Network and Fastrack host a panel discussion on Wednesday 25 May from 6.30pm at Somerset House.

The themes to be discussed include:

• How can young professionals contribute to the Big Society?

• How can young professionals get more involved in their community?

• What sort (if any) involvement do they want?

The event will conclude with a drinks reception.

The Big Society Network (BSN) is a not-for-profit group which aims to help organisations deliver the practical benefits of civic engagement. Today, the BSN exists to develop, support and champion new ways of enabling people to give and engage.

Fastrack is the Conservative Party's donor club for young professionals who have an interest in meeting like-minded supporters of the Party through members' only networking and social events. Fastrack is run by a committee of young professionals and supported by CCHQ.

If you are a young professional and would like to attend, please email events@thebigsociety.co.uk

Please specify which event you would like to attend, along with your name, organisation and email address that you would like to be contacted on.

So.. the event is for Conservative Party members.. to network with charities.

There's nothing like inclusivity, eh?
