Dan Hannan's got a blog in the Torygraph I think I've realised after too long.
His blog entry today 'Down with collective responsibility' mentions a piece on radio here where we hear Matthew Parris calling him "highly unstable" and an "incurable attention seeker."
This is before he goes on to say: "The sooner Cameron Conservatism can drive him in to the UK Independence Party, where I think he would probably skid off the road, the better."
Already been labelled "eccentric" by Cameron..

Anyway I mention this as there are a few good responses to the blog entry which brought a smile to my ugly mug. Here's one now:
"You are a smart chap, Daniel Hannan, maybe even half as smart as you think you are. But without the Tory party you are nothing. If you want confirmation of that unpalatable truth, join UKIP, currently recording between three and five per cent in opinion polls. And see how much UKIP's ratings rise as a result of your defection."
I smiled because this commenter had obviously been thinking along the same lines as me: that he does seem a 'bit full of himself'.
Here's more: "..Mr. Hannan has now nothing in common with the socialist led Conservative Party."

Is Daniel Hannan looking to try to be the unlikely British bulldog? :)
